Estudo das necessidades e interesses de idosos ativos quanto ao uso de tecnologias digitais

Abstract

The demands of the elderly for technologies have increased, as each day new technological means are inserted in their daily lives, mainly to facilitate and streamline daily activities, which interferes in their relationship with technologies, changing thoughts, attitudes, behaviors and communication, in this context, it is observed that older individuals are dedicated to accompany this continuous process of changes. For this, it is important to understand the overview of the needs, interests, opinions and uses they make of these digital technologies. Objective: to analyze the needs, interests, opinions and usability of the elderly regarding the use of digital technologies. Method: the study is cross-sectional, quantitative and descriptive, in which 300 elderly participants in the “Mais Vividos” group from the SESC units in the Federal District were evaluated. Data collection took place through structured and closed questionnaires with the four factors (need, interest, opinion and use) that are based on the technology acceptance model. Results: the average age of the elderly was 71.20 (± 6.73), in this research it was observed that 70.66% of the elderly need technologies with educational purposes, 73.66% showed a lot of interest in learning about something for through digital technologies, 77% more specifically showed an interest in learning about their rights. Another important finding was that of these individuals, 69.66% of the elderly said that they do not use apps in order to learn about their rights, however, 34.33% reported sometimes using mobile or tablet games to learn about something they have interest. Conclusion: the sample demonstrated needs, specific interests regarding digital technology and that they have an interest in using them, including as a way of learning about other topics, mainly regarding their rights. They expressed their recognition recognizing how important the internet is to help them, even though they mention not using digital applications to learn about their rights, on the other hand, they sometimes use cell phones and / or tablets to learn about something of interest.
