Leitura teórica e prática do projeto amigos da escola: perscrutando o agir solidário

Abstract

This study intended to analyze relationships between volunteers of PAE on the routinely activities of three schools in the Federal District. In 1999, started the Program Friends of the School (Programa Amigos da Escola) PAE, an initiative that proposes to articulate the private and public sectors, to act in the school context, in the search of improving the quality of education. On an assistance way or concerned with questions about building a new culture, solidarity and volunteers relationship are spread all over the world, on most different ways, and has motivations, among others, deriving from the social reality, or based on individual kindness history. It's believed that there is a potential to be explored, and the pressing prosecutions for solutions that reduces the exclusion and the social inequality are based on the assumption that the school is the space from where the diffusion of this value, that is linked to the modern society organization. Was adopted a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interview together with observation and the speech analysis provided answers to questions that justified this research. Still with small influence on the school routine, because directed to focused actions, yet there are evidences that the presence of the volunteers in the school brought new visions and some changes. Daily practices are distant from the theory exposes in the seven booklets Collection Friends of the School, prepared by the Program to give support to the necessary adaptations or doubts that arise during the Program implementation.
