A poesia como necessidade e seus lugares na contemporaneidade : a invasão do espaço público

Abstract

The research discourses about the importance of the poetic language as a means of communication and human interaction, its presence and endurance in contemporaneity, especially in urban and human spaces. Verifying the place of poetry in the consumer society, defined by written and visual media, the study reflects on essential notions such as communication, poetics, poetry, mythos and logos, space, place, urbaneness and contemporaneity. In an effort to approximate diverse forms of knowledge, the basis of the study is established on various theories; communication, philosophy, linguistics and sociology, by no means neglecting poetical works; worthy of mention are Aristotle, Heidegger, Morin, Huizinga, Kristeva, Maillard and Flusser and Marcondes Filho, as well as Ítalo Calvino and his notion of ideal city. In respect to the living poetry in the city, an interpretative reading of an urban poem on the stairway to the Teatro Nacional de Brasilia is presented.
