Elaboração de um programa de reúso da água em lavagem de veículos nos postos de combustíveis do Distrito Federal

Abstract

The objective of this study was to present a program of reuse of the water used to wash the vehicles in gas station, in order to maximize not only the environmental and economical benefits of this practice, but also of the water resources in the Distrito Federal. The wash of vehicles is a service offered by the gas station. This practice has contributed to increase the water consumption in the nineteen Administrative Regions of the Distrito Federal, where the National Agency of Petroleum, until April of 2005, registered 367 gas stations. Of this universe, the study analyzed the answers of the questionnaires applied in 202 of the 228 gas station visited. The research showed that 100% of the gas station that offer the service of wash vehicles doesn t make reuse of the water of the washed vehicles. It was observed that 72,9% of the gas station wash, on average, 30 vehicles a day and that it consumes, about, 150 liters of water in each vehicle washed. Therefore, each gas station spends approximately, 135.000 liters of water a month. The methodology used in this research it was descriptive, with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The instrument of collection of data used it was a questionnaire. The research was concluded pointing to the necessity of new studies in this area.
