Summary:	O objetivo desta dissertação foi desvendar o imaginário do familiar que entrega seu idoso aos cuidados de uma Instituição de Longa Permanência Para Idosos ILPI. O texto se constrói tendo como fundamento a Teoria do Imaginário de Gilbert Durand e a Teoria Gerontológica. Apresenta uma revisão da literatura das teorias de base e dos temas - família, cuidar e institucionalização - nele envolvidos; desenvolve-se, na busca de dados míticos, com a adoção do Arquétipo Teste de Nove Elementos - o A.T-9 -, de Yves Durand, complementado com a voz do familiar, colhida em entrevista não estruturada. Como resultado da mesma encontrou-se o imaginário do grupo com dois sujeitos com estrutura mística impura, dois com estrutura disseminatório, dois com estrutura pseudodesestruturado sendo um deles com tendência disseminatória e um com estrutura pseudodesestruturada.
Abstract:	The aim of this thesis was to unravel the imaginary family that delivers your elderly care in a long-stay institution for Seniors - LTCF. The text is built taking as a basis the Theory of Imaginary Gilbert Durand and Gerontological Theory. Presents a literature review of the basic theories and themes - family, taking care and institutionalization - it involved; develops in search of mythical data, with the adoption of Archetype Test Nine Elements - the AT-9 - Yves Durand, complete with the voice of the family gathered in an unstructured interview. As a result of that met the imaginary group with two guys with impure mystical structure, two disseminatório structure with two structure pseudodesestruturado with one being prone disseminatória and a structure with pseudodesestruturad.
